Classroom Behavior Plan and Expectations
Classroom Behavior Plan
This year I will be using a clip chart in order to promote positive behavior within the classroom. This chart will allow students to be rewarded for positive behavior, while also discouraging negative behavior. Each student will have a clip with his or her number on it. All students will start on green at the beginning of each day. Student’s clips can be moved up or down throughout the day based on behavior.
Fantastic Day Today (Blue)
o This level is for students who continue to display good behavior. A student who receives a Fantastic Day Today will have a blue marker on their behavior chart!
Working Hard (pink)
o This level is for students who show that they are making the right behavior decisions. Students who end the day on this level will have a pink marker on their behavior chart!
Brand New Day (Green)
o This is the level that all students will start on each day. Students can move up or down from this level. Students who end the day on this level will have a green marker on their behavior chart!
Time to Refocus (Yellow)
o A student that is moved to time to refocus will be given a warning about his or her behavior, and they will be reminded to follow the rules. Students will be given a warning and their behavior chart will be marked with yellow. A yellow behavior slip will also be sent home explaining the reason for the clip change.
Teacher’s Choice (Red)
o If a student is moved to this level then parents will be notified and an infraction will be given. Students who end on red will have their behavior chart marked with red and a red slip will be sent home explaining the behavior.
I will be using the behavior chart (on the back of student’s take home folder) to communicate your child’s behavior with you. Please make sure to check this daily. If your child receives a yellow or red day, please look for the red or yellow slip. Please sign the slip and return to school.
